Personality: At first glance, Junko could be describe as the typical popular girl. She’s aware of just how attractive she is and she has no problem flaunting it. That doesn’t mean she’s easy, though; this girl would sooner castrate you than let you so much as see one centimeter more of cleavage. Nor does it mean she’s as dumb as you might assume. Thanks to her military training, Junko has a keen eye for tiny details that might help a case, later (like when she and Fujisaki checked if the rooms were soundproof) and enough sense in her head to know that adapting to her new underground life is better than killing her friends. So, when you realize that she’s actually relatively smart and cute (although her current appearance has been heavily altered by make-up and a wig), it’s understandable that she’d be so confident in herself. Junko knows she can get whatever she wants with enough effort and legitimately believes in what she can accomplish. She’s quick to back herself when she claims she’ll be able to make Monobear disclose the location of the exit, never showing even an ounce of doubt of fear.
Yet, despite all her self-confidence, much of it is little more than bravado. Junko frequently worries that her current path in life is the wrong one, but says she finds her concern disgusting. However, she also claims she finds not changing dreams to be equally as awful. She has a habit on trapping herself in situations with where there can be no real happy ending - the most prominent example being her following the real Enoshima into the game where she’ll either end up being murdered or watching her classmates die.
Junko is the embodiment of a Type B Tsundere. While she’s almost constantly warm, open and borderline flirtatious, more than happy to point out any subtext between her classmates (“Going out with Maizono? Is this a date?”) and make sexual references (“Huh? Assistant? What’s that? Some kind of new roleplaying?”), but the moment the attention turns onto her, Junko becomes incredibly defensive and violent in her speech, openly calling out anyone who she thinks might be coming on to her. Even Naegi, who simply asked to hang-out with her received a verbal thrashing from Junko, being told that he shouldn’t expect to get anywhere with her.
Junko has no time for anyone’s bullshit. When she mentions that multiple men hit on her, she also says she outright rejects every single one of them because she ‘knows what they really want’. Needless to say, she’s got one hell of a short fuse and, while nowhere near as violent as Kuwata, does, on occasion, explode, as shown when she lashed out at Monobear for making light of Maizono’s death; while the others were able to hold back, Junko was the only one to physically assault their captor, which then lead to her being murdered.
It’s rare to find someone as painfully loyal as Junko is. While the reasons are unclear due to translation issues, it’s still obvious that Junko is almost obsessively loyal to the real Enoshima. Whether it’s because the two are literally sisters or simply best friends, Junko is willing to disguise herself as Enoshima so the latter can get off on watching her classmates fall into despair. The depths of her loyalty are proven even deeper than first believed when her final words “Well... Look at that,” are re-read with the knowledge that she’s in cahoots with the Mastermind. It seems as if Junko was well aware she might die in this little ‘game’, but still agreed to take Enoshima’s place.
For Junko, the likelihood of you being her friend depends on how interesting you are. Her most common compliment is ‘You’re an interesting guy’, and she makes numerous references to only hanging out with Naegi because he’s unique. However, Junko has the nasty habit of not assuming everyone’s at least somewhat interesting - if anything, you’re all boring until proven cool. Certainly a borderline pessimistic trait, Junko isn’t the type to really push to grow a bond with someone unless they appear to be worth her time. When Naegi first asks her to hang-out with him, she agrees with a half-hearted shrug. But, when Junko spends more time with Naegi, she begins to warm up to him, becoming increasingly protective and sisterly to him, offering to hook him up with a hot girl as thanks for being such a great friend. She also begins showing genuine excitement upon seeing him come to visit her, unlike earlier times when she simply went along with him due to a lack of anything else to do.
Junko has a flair for the dramatics, often making outlandish claims to express how she feels. She claims to be ‘dying of boredom’ when approached by Naegi, and actually begins to ramble about how she can literally feel herself dying from being so damn bored. It could be considered a trait played for laughs, but Junko, in almost all her dialogue, tries to put more emotion in with words such as ‘really’, ‘seriously’ and ‘super’ used to describe certain things. Seeing as she’s trying to emulate the real Enoshima’s personality, it can be said that Junko actually has major difficulty expressing her emotions, and so pushes herself to laughable lengths to appear like the ‘normal’ teenage girl. Another huge hint that she struggles with emotion is her interaction with Naegi. Often, she tries to compliment him, but can only offer rather empty praises like ‘you’re a pretty cool guy,’ and ‘you’re interesting, Naegi.’
So, while she’s somewhat over-confident, emotionally stunted, a massive liar and a tsundere, Junko definitely has her redeeming features. When you’re with her, nobody’s going to lay a hand on you, and you’ll have your very own painfully loyal big sister hanging around you, ready to produce you numerous beautiful ladies for your pleasure.
Oh, and a military-level sniper-assassin. But, mainly, you’ll have your very own model fetching girl.
Abilities: Junko is completely human, so lacks any supernatural abilities. However, she does have military combat and arms training, as well as an exceptional acting and make-up application ability. Seriously, she looks very little like the real Junko, but manages to pull off the disguise perfectly.
